Pňovany railway bridge
The railway bridge became an integral part of the dam. Between 2018 and 2019, its reconstruction took place and now tourists have the opportunity to cross the bridge even over the footbridge.
Pilsen
The metropolis of the Pilsen Region offers many historical sights, museums, theatres, galleries, a large zoo and botanical garden and many opportunities to taste the famous Pilsen beer.
The ruins of the castle Buben
From Hracholusky Dam you can follow the marked route to visit the castle remains of Buben. The castle was built before 1379. When you enter through the gate, a widespread court opens in front of you lined with a high wall on both sides and closed by the remains of the castle palace on the northwest side.
Kladruby
Kladruby is situated in the Uhlavka River Valley which is an ideal place for relaxation and recreation, both active and passive. A cultural icon of Kladruby is the local monastery which dates back to 1115, where classical music concerts are held every year in the summer months (Kladruby Musical Summer) as well as other cultural events.
Sports airport
We recommend visiting the airport situated nearby as a suitable family trip where various exhibitions of aeroplanes are held, as well as tuning parties of soaped-up cars, Historical War Days with reconstructions of battles for the airport and other interesting events.
Military bunkers
The surroundings of the town of Stříbro are visited mainly because of military bunkers from the first half of the 20th century. Some bunkers are below the water level of the dam near Vranov. One bunker is even located next to the boarding pier of the Vranov stop.
Stribro
The historical centre of the town stretches along the Mze River going to a deep valley and forms a romantic whole with the surrounding forested slopes. The local Renaissance Town Hall and the Hussite´s Citadel are the buildings that made the town known worldwide.
Marianske Lazne
Marianske Lazne is the second biggest Czech spa with a wealth of mineral springs. The pseudo-Baroque colonnade built in 1889 is the main spa walk and also an important protected building. The famous singing fountain enjoys the most of interest of visitors.
Konstantinovy Lazne
Konstantinovy Lazne justly belongs among the places of the Pilsen Region, which can be proud of the spa oasis in its territory of untouched countryside abounding with mineral water springs. You can find many historical sights there and interesting places which will enable you to follow the trace of humans from the Primeval-Ages through the Middle-Ages to the present.
